El escenario: Zero Fest 2008, con sede en Guadalajara, pude ver algunas bandas como Bright Eyes, Los Dynamite, The Faint y Fat Boy Slim, de las que mas recuerdo, pero la razón y motivo indiscutible de asistir al evento, se llama The Mars Volta.
No hubiera pagado por ver ninguna de las demas bandas.
Después de varios grupos, daban las 8 pm se acercaba el momento, nos quedamos en el escenario negro, lo único malo fué que tuvimos que escuchar todo el set de Zoé!! =(
se sentia un aire diferente, todos hablaban de la genialidad del guitarrista, de lo excéntrico del frontman, de la bandera de México decorando un par de buffers, hasta que por fin, empezo a oirse a manera de intro, el tema de 'Fistfull of Dollars' de Enio Morricone , jamas he sentido una vibra tan intensa al ver una banda en vivo.
Aumentaba la velocidad, guitarras, bateria, bajo y demas percusiones, mientras tanto Cedric lanzaba el pedestal del micrófono hacia el publico, Rodriguez-Lopez con sus riffs recordaba a los grandes de la guitarra, parecia ser un Hendrix tocando en Woodstock incendiando la Stratocaster... Pridgen, el baterista es un demonio, como si fuera victima de una fuerza extraña, estaba poseido!! (tal vez fué por la influencia de la soothsawyer),
adrenalina circulante,
éxtasis puro,
ese el sonido de la música de marte
puedes identificar lo genuino que una banda es,
cuando se les ve ejecutando su música en vivo,
